Has anyone had any success using a salt and pepper rub for smoked brisket? If so, worth a try?
I have not been to Franklin BBQ or JMueller BBQ in Austin, but they "supposedly" only use salt and pepper (aka Dalmatian Rub) on their brisket.

I used the Franklin method on my first brisket a few months back....it was amazing! Just salt and pepper. Smoked for 6 1/2 hours at 250. Took off and sprayed with Apple cider vinegar and little hot sauce and then wrapped. Then back on the smoker for a little over two hours. Everyone loved it.
