Fished from 6:30 to 11 at my honey hole in NWLA. Caught about 30 total. A shitload of middle of the mall fish, but a few good numbers (16-18, podnah caught 20, 21.5 and 22").
No hits on top. Started off with an 18" fish on a white spinnerbait (with an ultralight - that was fun). Caught a few with that and then ran the senko through and mopped up. Ended it by catching some good ones on a swimbait.

STRONG North wind came through about 10:30 and the bite shut off. It was wrapping me around every stump in sight.

Made my very first ever yak excursion yesterday on the Caddo River. Had to see what all the hype was about. Biggest takeaway is that I need to figure out a better place to put the paddle while casting. Dropped the sumbitch 3 times and got line tangled on it several times. Pretty little river though. Fished the pools between shoals.
Pop- Dont let your jealousy take over. I'd be happy to show you the hole where these lunkers reside.
All kidding aside, the Caddo is meh for fishing (although I did see literally hundreds and hundreds of those suckerfish), it is a damn pretty paddle with cooler water temps. It's right between De Gray and Ouachita. Check it out.

I'm sure there are finer yaks than the one I borrowed that have an attachment on the side or something.

Sweet looking spot
What did you think about fishing from the yak?
As far as the paddle, mine lays across my lap at all times when fishing.

Nice hoists, awful thread title.
My paddle also lays across my lap if I'm making quick casts on they've, but generally my rule of thumb, if the cajun anchor gets deployed the paddle gets strapped down.

It was cool. That water was so clear, it was essentially sight fishing. Did have 3 close encounters with some GDCKs. Lets just say that's a different perspective than I'm used to!

I think the most scared ive been is kayak fishing a jetty on the river with another OBer....as we rode that jetty, the final count was 22 GDKC.
