Brits on tour - Vs Florida and @ Ole Miss - Update - question re tours

So I posted a while back about a trip planned for A&M and Arkansas...Plans have changed.
I've managed to persuade a friend of mine to come along (I promised him basically a week long party road trip) and it has been set in stone.
Flying into Baton Rouge on Fri 11 at 5pm.. Going to Florida game then going to go to Nola and see some other places as we work our way over to Jackson,MS then to Oxford for the game against Ole Miss.
I am very very excited.
Any tips?
We are staying at the Hampton Inn (i10/college dr). We will have a car but will we be able to walk to the game or get a shuttle?
What should we do Friday night before the game?
Also what's the best way to get tickets to those games. Stub hub?
Any tips on travelling to Oxford? Doesn't look like there are any hotels available so I think I'm just going to drive back to Jackson after the game.
Looking forward to many yells of 'Geaux Tigers' (we don't get that in my country) and some fun tailgating.

Good morning!
You will not be able to walk from the hotel in BR (unless you want to trek a couple miles), but you can find places to park around campus. I suggest paying someone to park in their yard since you are not familiar with the area (or get there early, as in before 9-10 am if it is a night game, and park in the Kerby Smith Dorm parking lot for free and much safer)!
StubHub for tix!
Friday night parties depend on what you are into. 18-21 and like drunk college girls... Go to Tigerland! 21-up and are into a more "classy" crowd (which is not 100% of the people) go downtown.
After the game, make your way to Walk On's, or Fred's, to watch a band, and proceed to get blackout drunk while traffic dies down (you can walk to those places from the stadium, and you might want to drop a pin on your phone wherever you park)! Take whatever sluts y'all pick up (which you will because you are British ) back to the hotel via cab. Make sure you call said cab at least 1 hour to 45 minutes in advance to desired departure time. Wake up and get cab to the pin you dropped! (Discard women accordingly)
Nola... Bourbon is a must for 1 (and only 1) night. After that, there are many places to visit, but I am too tired to type this out on my phone right now.
Finding hotels in Oxford will probably be tough (there are some on Kayak right now), but if you look now you should be able to find something closer than Jackson.
Most importantly HAVE A GOOD TIME!!! Oh, and stop by my tailgate!
COYS!!!

Thanks for the info!
I don't mind a two mile trek if it is safe to walk it. Once we get to campus we will want to be without the car anyways! Is it that case that no one walks from those hotels?
Are cabs easy to get. I hear horror stories in here about them.
Where is your tailgate? Well be sure to stop by!
Thanks for the other tips.. I don't like soccer but my friend does. Not sure what he thinks of spurs though! Technically I think they are my team given where I live in London. I've never been to a game!
Stub hub is reliable? I'll need to ship tickets to the hotel I guess

You really can't walk. Just take a cab if you refuse to drive. I park in the free lot by the ag center on the corner of highland and s. stadium. You have to get there early as it will fill up. If you plan to walk to walk ons or something like that afterwards the hayfields may be a better option as its on that side.

just get a cab so you can get wasted
also to note memphis is only like an hour from Oxford if you don't want to drive all the way to Jackson after that game

For the Ole Miss game check out The Shack Up Inn in Clarksdale, MS. Bout an hours drive west from Oxfart. Birthplace of the blues. Cool place.

I tailgate right in between the Indian Mounds, under the Oak Tree... You should be able to get the tickets emailed to you, and you can print them out. Check for that option when you are looking at them.

I've just checked stubhub. I'd love
Lower bowl seats for Florida but don't think it's going to happen. Lots of singles but not two together.
Any other ideas? What's the situation with the ticket exchange? I'd like to get tickets in person if I can. Also I suppose I could just show up to the game but I don't want to take that chance.

You can check the ticket marketplace on lsusports.net as the game gets closer. Those are face value tickets sold by those who can't go to the game through lsu. Problem is with it being fla that might be tough but you could get lucky.

You will be able to find tickets outside the stadium, but they will be well over face value. Check the ticket exchange on this site... I'm sure you can work something out with someone over there. Just make sure they are a reputable poster that has sold on TD before.

Update and another question:
Everything is booked except Florida tickets. Still working on that.
Will be in the LSU section in Oxford. Row 28! Anyone nearby? We have low seat numbers. So probably on towards q section.
I know people on here have mentioned as hoc tours / access to tiger stadium. Basically, we will be travelling back through BR on the Tuesday after the Florida game. As we are flying a long way, I'd love to see as much as possible. Is there a way to go onto the field or tour any of the facilities? That would really put the icing on the cake of this trip.

How many Florida tickets are you looking for

Two together... Preferably not in the uppers. If I'm only going to see LSU once (at least for a while) I'd really really like to be in the bowl if I can. Any ideas?

What should we do Friday night before the game?
But if you're feeling adventurous anyway, I'd recommend going to a Cajun restaurant.
South Louisiana/Cajun culture is different from New Orleans, and it would be a shame to miss out on either.
There is a few good options in the area that you're staying:
Parrains is a great place to eat with an authentic feel. It's moderately priced.
Juban's is another great south louisiana cuisine restaurant, but it's fancier/more expensive.
The food and drink board may be able to give you some more options or help you make a decision, but those two are my recommendations for the area in which you are staying.

FYI- The Florida weekend is also the weekend of the World Championship Gumbo Cookoff in New Iberia with Sunday being the big day! Also that weekend is the Festivals Acadian in Lafayette which some people say is better than Jazz Festival thats Friday-Sunday! Great music and food and good lookn Cajun girls with dar boots on and lookn to cut a rug! Those 2 events alone are worth ditching New Orleans!

I will see if I can find you two. I might have some available.
