I must have been the only one that thought Iron Man 3 was actually enjoyable. Yeah, the Mandarin was a farce, but no way could they have gone into the Mandarin's character with any sort of depth and made it believable. Yeah, RDJ did a lot of whining, but that was in keeping with his post traumatic stress from the Avengers. The movie was almost entirely about him overcoming his basic "What the frick!? Aliens! Gods! O shite, I'm about to die!" moment in New York.

Seemed a little more coherent than, say, Man of Steel, which was one big fight scene after another. I actually like Superman Returns (a/k/a Superman Redux) better than Man of Steel, which was hackneyed at best. I lost some respect for Nolan with that because the only reason I even went to see Man of Steel was because his name was attached to it. Otherwise, I would have avoided it like the plague thanks to Zac "I suck at making movies" Snyder directing it.

But, in all fairness, neither IM3 nor MoS was a very good movie. They were your standard superhero fare. Maybe a little worse than Thor or Captain America, but not by much.

if he is the smartest man on the planet and is shocked of about other life forms...he's not that smart. Also, a guy lived in ice for 70 years and woke up to be a super soldier and one of his buddies turns into an unstoppable rage monster. I'll give you the god thing.

The surmise of Tony in Tennessee was absurd. He has way too many connections and of course he could have called house party before he was attacked. Lastly, they hinted at Mandarin in the first one and totally took a left turn. I thought they missed the mark there.

I am okay with taking chances, but the Mandarin choice was the wrong one-it's Tony's arch nemesis. Don't bastardize the source material.
