There's a reason 200 lb Safeties aren't playing LB in the league; they are too damn small to take on and shed blockers. Sure a SS can come up to the line, move around and find a hole to hit; but that's not the same as getting around or through Tackles, Guards and TE's.



we have 5 other olbs on the team i think. I just cant imagine one of our other guys cannot fill Smith's shoes. On top of that I'm not a fan of W. Smith the last couple years. He's been slow. He's been giving up on plays. He gasses out mid seasonish. I think we can put another OLBer there and be the same as they wouldve been if not better.

That's just my opinion.

Both in practice and in games so far none of the other ones have looked better all around(and I'd say only Martin has looked better rushing consistently). He's definitely the best one at stopping the run. Even if he was our worst cover OLB, they aren't asked to cover that much and he could always sub out.

I have hope with Wilson and Galette coming back but the other guys are at least a slight step down.
