I think the prequels on BluRay look even worse.
It's amazing what VHS and even DVD could mask.
HD has not been kind to the aging process of a lot of movies.

Are you sure about this? Because the acting, direction and story were all pretty $hitty, too. I think you can overlook some cartoonish, fakey looking CGI when the story and acting are good.
