Doesn't matter anyway, it was a win. I didn't hear much from Stockton that showed favoritism, now the other guy, maybe.

Probably because dick Stockton didnt call that game

It was Sam Rosen and Tim Ryan

The play by play guy, whoever the frick it was, was unbiased. I said Stockton because he was previously mentioned. The color analyst may have been somewhat though.

Wasn't really a hard decision to make. Meachem was the third receiver and probably the fourth or fifth receiving target behind Graham and Sproles. Letting him walk considering the kind of money he wanted was a no brainer.

Can't argue with that based on what he's done at Tampa. But for the Saints, Nicks >>>>>>>>>>>>Grubbs

Let's see what Grubbs does this year with a play caller who actually calls plays that utilize his ability to pull and lead on screens...

Yeah, Grubbs has been fine in this offense. Nicks was great, but I ain't even worried about him. Players who have recently left the Saints for more money tend to flop wherever they end up.

Pretty much the opposite of what used to happen back in the day.

Meachem was garbage......in the draft we just missed out on Dwayne bowe. That would have been exponentially greater. I always wondered if both were available what the saints would have done?

Easily in my top five greatest Saints plays of all time.

don't know why everyone is bagging on his preference

It's in my top 10 certainly, maybe top 5

But #1?

I will allow sentimental types the Gleason block, but otherwise it's got to be Hartley or one of the Tracy Porters

This.... does not equal this....

Loomis' job is to win, not prop up any player that has ever made a play for the team.

Last offseason many thought that losing Robert Meachem & the aging of Devery Henderson would hurt the Saints receiving corps but with the drafting & development of Nick Toon & Kenny Stills, those thoughts seem to be an afterthought.
Ehhh...
If you give him credit for making the right decision to part with Meachem/Devery, you also have to take some credit away for wasting a 1st round pick on Meachem.

Let's hope ingram/vaccaro make something of themselves to redeem Loomis' first round pick credibility.

Everyone knows that Brees make his WRs. I wasn't upset to see Meach leave and thought San Diego overpaid.

1. Dempsey field goal (for the record-setting reason and the fact that it was a win for a really bad football team).
2. Gleason blocked punt.
3. River City Relay (I know we lost the game, but one of the best executed laterals I've ever seen to pull off a touchdown on the last play).
4. NFCCG OT kick by Hartley.
5. Onside kick in SB44 (one of the most ballsey plays I've ever seen in the post-season).

Now I would rank Meachem's play somewhere in the 6-10 range, along with Porter's pick 6 in SB44 and Hakim muffing the punt in the playoff game in 2000 leading to our first post-season win. Not to knock Meachem's play, it was a remarkable play that fully represented the attitude of our team that year. Saints have had some really awesome plays in their history, especially considering how bad they were for so long.
