Lowe had a great article focusing heavily on Monroe. He sums it up with:

I think that I would prefer doing the Ryno for Asik deal over whatever we'd have to give up for Monroe.

Good read. Missed it when it came out
In the unlikely event Monroe is available, I think he fits very nicely in NO. Agree that he isnt a max guy, but he and Davis seem to complement each other well.
But say they do a S/T with Gordon and/or Anderson as bait. Holiday/Evans/Davis/Monroe is enticing. D and 3 SF plus smart bench signings could make some serious noise
