I was just comparing recoil. But to answer your question my kids first shotgun will be a pump. Makes them slow down and make their shots count more. If you give a kid an automatic you better be it rich to afford the shells that little bastard is going to burn

I remember all the rounds I went through when my dad started me on his A5 20 gauge. There is definite truth to this statement.

This....I started with a single shot 20 and could hit a dove with one shot...as I grew into an automatic it took three shots to get that dove
