much higher percentage of Americans also HAVE to have a car as well.. Also - the cuts after driving a new car off the lot are much much more steep than in the gaming market.. and there is no lease option for the normal gamer..
Also - if you buy a new car, you keep it for 2-3 years (for a lease, closest thing you have to a lease for games is gamefly, and people keep games 2-3 weeks on average there) and then buy a new one or you don't get rid of it for another 15.. another one of those "bad analogies" if I might say so myself.
