I saw they have a .17 WSM.

What could they possibly have done to make the hmr round better?

Do want. I have a .17hmr and .22 wmr, so I can't justify it, but would like to see it in action.

17 HMR was built with killing in mind. I bet that 17 WSM is a bad s.o.b.

I have a .17 HMR as well. The 17g in it travels at 2550 fps. A 20g bullet in the .17 WSM travels at over 3000 fps. Also they have put a rotary flush fitting 8 round magazine in the bolt mag.

The magazine is the one thing that I absolutely hate on my .17.

is your current 17 a savage? I have a savage 22 and the freaking mag digs into my back when on the sling so much I may sell the thing.

I remember that but I was more talking about the rifle AND the new caliber. BP I do have the Savage and that is the only thing on that gun I can't stand.

The new Savage is said to retail for $349 (I think that's the right number)

Added bonus is that you will always be able to get ammo for it.

I swear, at the peak of the ammo shortage...there was .17 Ammo available EVERYWHERE!!!!

You are correct. I didn't even think of that angle.

Downshift should certainly look into getting one of these.
