These are few and far between. Some mods like DayZ hit it out of the park but I have seen a lot of shite mods that promise the world and never deliver.

But there are plenty of good mods out there, besides DayZ. The Hidden, The Stanley Parable, Black Mesa Source and that's just a few I could think of off the top of my head. They aren't as rare as you make them out to be.

And let's not even get started on the insane amount of mods for games like Fallout 3 and Skyrim.

You've also got mods to enable support for new tech like the Oculus Rift, which is something the community would never be able to do on a console at this stage.

The shear flexibility of the PC is it's biggest advantage.

Seems like a preference to me then.

I agree it's a preference, but I think you are in the minority if you prefer playing a FPS on a controller over a KB/M. The only people I know who feel the same as you are those who have never become proficient at both. Anecdotal, yes, but I can't go on anything else but my experience on this point.

Having said all of that, one of my most memorable gaming experiences EVER, was playing Journey on my PS3. I like playing on every platform I can afford to.

I really doubt this given how large the console base has grown compared to PC.

Black Mesa Source

Downloading this right now. Bought the Orange Box combo pack so that I could play a bunch of mods and figured I'd enjoy the Half-Life experience since I have the games.
