Say what? When did this happen?
Just a theory of mine. Think Vatu will give Unaloq the powers of the Avatar, and that will be the showdown at the end. Basically Aang vs Ozai on steroids.

Frick Korra can Books 3 and 4 be about Wan

Do the spirits have the ability to do that though? They way I was seeing it was the Lion Turtle was giving the power to Rava to hold for Wan and she couldn't transfer it to him unless she went through him which could possibly kill him (only person they ever tried it on).
If that is the case Vatu would have to get the powers from the Lion turtles as well which isn't possible because he is imprisoned.
I am kind of confused on how people started getting bending in the first place after Wan imprisoned Vatu because the Lion Turtles said that they were no longer needed and that they would no longer allow individuals to get the elements from them. Then they left.

Good point I haven't thought about. It seems though that Rava was merely a channel that allowed Wan to bend the elements simultaneously. Wan didn't need Rava to bend the elements one at a time. All Vatu needs to do is perhaps completely possess Unalaq and then he could bend all 4 elements, and maybe even some added dark powers like those dark projections he was throwing at Wan. I just think it would be a shame if we didn't get an Anti-Avatar, and I can't think of a better candidate than Vatu to give them Avatar powers.

They may have given bending to the people who thought were worthy, and once done, they left them.
But it's clear the world went to absolute shite at that moment. All but one Lion Turtle is now dead, and they clearly hunted them down. I'm thinking that other tribes hunted them to get multiple bending abilities like Wan, and when they refused, the Lion Turtles were promptly killed. Wan is pretty much responsible for total civilization collapse, and he failed to keep the shite from hitting the fan at the end. That's why the end of it is so damn tragic.

Sounds good. It was definitely a great set of episodes.

This week's episode was ok, but I like that they're expanding Jinora's role a lot. Hope she becomes pretty essential for the rest of the season and becomes a full time member of Team Avatar (I could live without the other kids joining it, definitely, since they're only good in small doses).
I like the complexity to Tenzin that despite being a spiritual expert that he's never entered the Spirit World and he was reluctant to anyone besides himself doing that for the Avatar. I do wish he was a bit more cold towards Korra after she abandoned him, but at least she apologized for it and told him why he was the better spiritual expert and mentor to her.
And Eska and Desna are totally going to betray Unalaq, especially since they certainly ran across Vatu and probably realized he is Satan.

I think Tenzin is sticking to the way of his father and the other Airbenders. They aren't very angry individuals and are usually very wise and understanding which is why he forgives Korra so easily.
Unalaq's kids are definitely going to turn on him later on in the season if I had to guess. I assume in the next episode we will see Jinora get hurt in the spirit world while Korra is fighting off Unalaq.
I could definitely see Korra some how screwing up and allowing Vatu to be released in the next episode and then finally recapturing him again at the end of the season.
It definitely feels like their are quite a few storylines going on at the same time.

I just think they'll accidentally get separated, where Jinora goes off and finds Wan Shi Tong, and Korra goes to close the portal.
I'm actually thinking that the portals have to be opened for Harmonic Convergence and that Korra's battle with Vatu is inevitable. Unalaq is doing it for much more selfish reasons and trying to get Avatar powers from Vatu, but if the portals aren't opened for it, I'm thinking it could mean worldwide destruction.
And I have no idea how they're going to unite Korra's plot with Mako's this season.

Well, Spirit is this season, but not sure if that counts.

I am not sure they saw Vatu, but they were not happy when Unalaq did not care if they were hurt and blamed them for Korra.

He's in a pretty obvious location. Certainly they looked at that tree.

SPOILERS
First off, yay Iroh. Really didn't expect to see him again, but it was great to see him. He's just such a great mentor figure and reassuring. Next to Gandalf, definitely my favorite mentor figure. Really love that they brought him back to help Korra.
But really great episode. They did the spirit world well, and I'm glad we've got a bit more clarification on it. I'm curious why Wan Shi Tong would assist Vatu and Unalaq since he should certainly know better. Sure he has a vendetta against the Avatar, but that still shouldn't prevent him from seeing global annihilation if it comes to pass.
Really curious on where they're taking the story. With no progression of Mako's arc, I really have no idea how they're going to unite those two plots.

Well, he also thought the music from radios was made by little shrunken people in boxes.
Book knowledge isn't much use without real world knowledge.

You know, Unalaq is one evil son of a bitch. He nearly not only almost murders a child, but also nearly destroys her soul, as well as nearly taking out his own niece's soul. I can't wait for the ten acres of hell Korra and especially Tenzin unleashes on Unalaq.

Is there now even a debate that waterbending is now by far the most powerful element. It's really not even fair on how powerful a waterbender can become.
Water/Ice Manipulation
Healing
Plant Manipulation
Bloodbending
Bending Severing
Spirit Bending
Soul Eating
Compare to the other elements:
Fire: Fire Manipulation and Projection, as well as lightning and heat absorbtion
Earth: Earth and Metal Manipulation
Air: Just Air (for now)
And Shyamalan thought that fire was the most powerful, so he depowers it. The only handicap waterbenders have is having to carry their element around, but that makes it just slightly fair for them.
Something tells me Tenzin is about to break out a subtype of bending where he can control vacuums and use it against Unalaq, because the dick would deserve it.

The tree is centrally located, but it looks like he is hidden in the tree.

I would bet that Unalaq or Vatu promised him more knowledge or he would make sure no more humans would harm his library.

Can someone tell/remind me why Korra needed a spiritual guide?
