didn't we lose out on Vince Young because Saban wanted him at LSU as a WR?

Now all we need is Saban to tell Cam that he wants him to be Jack linebacker and we got him locked up.

I don't know that we lost out as i think he was Texas all the way, but yes Saban did suggest he play WR he wasn't the only one. What's ironic is Brown had VY as a QB all the way, but whiffed on RGIII and JFF because he wanted them at other positions

just think if Texas had RGIII to come in after McCoy got hurt vs Bama

To the OP, the LF to LB stuff is over a year old. That rumor popped up around the time Crutchfield was hired at St Aug and LF was playing some LB in practice. Nevermind that a lot of HS guys play both ways. With his build and athletism he probably could play either, but he so good a RB and like a lot of kids, i assume he loves to have the ball.

We definitely lost Pat White because Saban wanted him as a DB.

Yes he did.

Saban also wanted Brandon Jacobs at LB and Pat White at CB.

Misjudging talent happens to all coaches.

Just as a sidenote.... Stevan Ridley was recruited as a LB by Ole Miss. Miles offered him to play RB, and that's why he came to LSU.
