I was certainly a dumbass, but I was never suspended from school even once and I never punched anybody in the nose for no reason. There's dumb, and there's DUMB - and repeated episodes of violence is another matter entirely.

Yeah. But not all think assauling someone just because they're following you is a logical solution.

Nope. There's a subset of 17 year olds who think that. They're called thugs.

I was. More than once.

What was TM suspended for?

My recollection is fighting, stealing, and drugs.

ETA

I was. More than once.
Then we agree that all 17s are dumbasses, but not all get suspended. What's your point?

So its ok for the court to show Zimmerman being a "wannabe cop" but not ok to show Travon being a "wannabe gangster".

thats why the uninformed are still in an uproar over this. They still think he was some innocent kid who got killed for walking in the wrong neighborhood.

If she's not alone in a dark alley with a mini skirt...none of this would have happened. amirite?

re: I would like to read the texts of TM.

quote:

Black folk think that the Law is unjust, O; do you think that could be a problem for a lot of kids dying?

Like my dad always told me growing up. The world isn't fair and no one ever said it would be. Do I think Zimmerman should rot in jail for what happened, no there wasn't enough evidence for that. Do I think he should get the shite sued out of him in civil court absolutely.

quote:

Suppose Bernacke can't keep conjuring money up to the tune of a TRILLION a year. Suppose all those checks in the mail go away. Suppose Jackson/Sharpton/Wright et al blame the "rich white people" and point to Trayvon and the Law.

when the checks go away the country will revolt regardless of this incident. In fact i'll be one of the ones pissed. If i'm paying the government money for a baseline standard of living and my defense while they offer me neither while I still have to pay the revolt will be on. And I don't even like that we are paying for a baseline standard of living, I can provide that for myself but I didn't pay all these taxes so that when I get fired i'm totally fricked.

Why?

Are texts what caused Zimmerman to assume that TM had no right to walk through that neighborhood without being confronted?

No but it's very relevant to TM's attitude and state of mind at the time. But to address your point, numerous burglaries in the neighborhood and TM's suspicious actions according to GZ, led to GZ calling it in as a Neighborhood Watch advocate and reporting Martin. But we do know GZ was beaten up which apparently led to his deadly defense.

That's a good point, except you seem to agree with them.

no one knows for sure that is what happened it's just zimmermans story and he left no witnesses. That part of the story always seemed fishy.

I was never suspended from school even once

I wasn't either but I got really lucky and knew the higherups who could suspend me personally from my childhood so I was protected otherwise I would have been. Either way i'd bet if we can find stats on it more kids get suspended now than in the past due to all the bull shite rules.

getting in fights here and there happens to just about every male. It's just how it is.

I don't think this was some dude out there hunting down black teenagers. I think it was a poorly handled situation from every end and more than likely zimmerman is more at fault than he is letting on.

What repeated episodes of violence are you referring to?

TM was suspended 3 times. Once for tardies, once for graffiti, and once for having an empty baggie that school officials suspected contained marijuana residue.

Never happen.

That's why I don't think their will be a civil trial. The parents have already been paid a million dollars, it's not like they will be hurting for money. I don't think they would want to tarnish the image of their son that has been portrayed.

The indication of more than one fight and his professed prowess as a fighter were contained in the cell phone evidence the defense withheld from discovery and was eventually ruled inadmissible by the Judge.

Also contained evidence of marijuana use, potentially stolen property, purple drank use (made with Arizona watermelon juice drink and skittles by the way), and efforts to buy/sell a gun.

Normal 17 yr old stuff.

Stopping your car, getting out, and proceeding to follow someone who has no idea who you are to the place they are staying can easily be considered at least a little disturbing if not an outright act of aggression.

Then you get inside, and call the police.

If you choose to attack the person following you then you have committed a crime. And, if during the commission of that crime, you are shot because you have beaten him down to the point where he feared for his life, then not only will you be dead, but that person will also be acquitted of charges because he was acting in self defense.

But noooooo. TM was being disrespected so, he had to kick him some ass.

I wasn't there, but I'm about 95% sure this is what happened. And, thus the fault belongs to Travon. He got himself killed.
