Correct. There have only been 130,000 shares of DSLV traded this morning. I'm trying to get out now. My sell order moved the market

Short term trading in low volume stocks is tough. The bid ask spread can really put a hurting on you.

You got that right.

I knew I was in trouble when I put in my original buy order for 1,000 shares and it only partially filled (800). That made the price move up so much I canceled the unfilled 200 shares. I put a sell order in for the 800 shares and the priced drop way below my sell price within 2 seconds.

Lesson learned: Stay away from DSLV.

Got out at $62.39 right before the close.

It was skipping like water droplets in a pot of hot oil for a while. I think it will have better exit points tomorrow but I prefer to sleep at night. I should have just watched you sweat it by yourself.

So you saw how crazy its prices would swing.

There were times this morning when there were ZERO trades for five minutes or longer all the while the bid/ask kept moving wildly.

Now I know what it feels like to have a bitcoin order in....

Hopefully it rides back up to the $32-35 range... I'm gonna unload a boatload of the physical I have.

Between how much it is used in electronics and its ability to be used as a hedge against inflation and market days like today, I like it much better than gold. It's only about 8-10% of my portfolio. I'm just happy that I got in more around the $18 range.

My guess is he took the silver content of the Morgan and multiplied it.

Real world, Morgan Silvers are going for low 30's on Ebay currently. Just a few dollars lower than when silver was at the $32 mark.

You're probably right. If so, his statement of Morgan's 'worth' is not correct. If had said 'the silver content of a Morgan dollar is equal to....." then I would agree with him.

Yeah, I would be buying the shite out of them at $17.

My local coin guy has been selling them at $25 in decent to poor shape. I am thinking about going down there and offering cash for all of them at $20. Don't know if he would take it but I think I could turn some decent money from them.

"Silver coin values below are based on live silver prices at the CME. These coins were in standard circulation until silver was removed from all coinage in 1965 and 1970 (40% silver half-dollars). The values below only reflect the silver value, not rarity or numismatic value. This table should only be used as a guide for buying and selling silver coins. These coins are sometimes called "junk silver", but I really dislike that term. All values shown in USD.

Coin value calculations use the 5:15 PM EDT silver price for August 16, 2013:
Silver $23.20/oz"
