All different runners than Ingram. And again, I'm not an Ingram guy, but I wonder exactly what type of numbers everyone expects him to put up. And I'm also not saying we SHOULD give him more carries, I like our offense the way it is. But what I am saying is that for the type of runner he is, it isn't conducive for him to be the big yardage number guy everyone seems to expect him to be. The way our offense is designed and with who we have throwing the football, none of our running back can, or will, be big yardage number guys
I just want consistency. For a while it seemed like a wasted play to hand him the ball because he was getting stuffed for no gain or 1 yard. I'm not expecting 100 yards a game, but i just want 3 or 4 yards per carry almost every time

I don't think that is too much to ask for out of a running back

I think he's just trying to be too fast and flashy with the ball. It takes patience and precision when running in the NFL... And explosiveness. He should have no problem with the latter (ask Vic Butler)

He's consistently gotten 3.9 YPC for two years.

Look, you have a different NFL these days. These guys don't get 35 carries a game week in and week out. Ingram might see 10-15 snaps a game. He's sharing carries with Thomas and Sproles, not to mention the Saints run a pass-first offense. It's kind of difficult for one guy to be the workhorse when there is no consistent workload. That being said, 3.9 YPC is most definitely acceptable.

What you guys have to understand is that you have a square peg in a round hole with Ingram and the Saints offense. The Saints made a statement drafting him after the injury-plagued RB situation the year before Ingram was selected. They had to do it. So, they did it.

I don't know if this whole Ingram thing is a troll attempt, I don't come here that often anymore to know.

It always seemed to me that...

Ingram hate comes from a place of emotion.
Ingram non-hate/support comes from a place of logic.

Which should be given more weight?

Its the new endless Reggie Bush threads.

If Ingram had gone to LSU it would be...
1. CSP had to draft him.
2. He needs to be used right.
3. He's still learning.
4. He finally looked like a NFL runner the last half of the season.
5. Did you see his passion on the LSU sideline against bama? Dude was getting them and the crowd amped up!
6. He needs to be the bell cow which CSP will never let him be.
7. He has a avg's 3.9 a carry you dumbass bama fans.
8. He likes snow cones!!! Geaux Tigers shake the haters M.I.

It would be awesome if we had a Mark Ingram board.

Imagine how nice things would be.

I never said he was terrible I just want to see more consistency. It seems like he has a good run and then will have one or two carries for no gain that limits the play calling. I'm not a hater I am just saying things that I'd like to see him improve

How about causing our newly signed LB to tear his ACL in a half-speed drill months before the season?

And all Mark should want is consistency. You can't bring a guy in for just one or two plays at a time. Juggling your RBs like that won't work for everyone. Let them have drives to themselves other than when Sproles needs to come in for third and long. If being smarter with how and when he gets his snaps is too much to ask, then I hope we trade him to a team that won't juggle him on and off the field every other down.

Ingram tries to run like a 230+ RB and he is not that.

Spot on.
Runs straight ahead like he believes he's Earl Campbell.
After the Ala game watching shiftier RB's from the sideline and Ivory creeping up on him it was around mid-season he started actually to look....wait....spin and not just try and crash through walls. Maybe he waits on his blocking more and the game is slowing down for him.
I hope so anyway.
Lets hope snowcone keeps improving.
