i spent some time in the KV before Restrepo was filmed.. in 2004 actually

we also operated out of a mobile FOB for about 9 months, between Kandahar and TK

we were lucky i think, in that it was fairly calm.. the Taliban were still in retreat from the beating they had taken during our initial entry into the area

im not sure what Bagram and Kandahar air fields look like now, but when we were there, it was just tent cities.. some permanent housing was going up, but that was it.. they were pouring heli pads at KAF, now that i think about it.

I enjoyed eye witness more, but both shows were intense.

These guys will never know the amount of respect I have for them

Both shows are great. Makes you truly appreciate the sacrifices that our soldiers go through...also makes me want to join.

Know anyone out of 1/2 Attack in Carson? Charlie CO was in our task force down south from JAN '12 to '13.

No I don't know anyone from there. I graduated flight school and 6 months later I was in Afghanistan. Pretty lucky as far as timing goes.

By down south I'm guessing your talking KAF? My sister company probably ripped those guys as the timeframes match up perfectly.

Damn i didnt know they closed all those places along the Pech, but i havent really kept up with it since I left. Konar sure was crazy though, a lot of fighting every day in the Pech.

Yeah with all those places closed everyone is packed like sardines on the major FOBs and more worried about the clothes you are wearing to the shower and calling you out via command climate surveys than being men and approaching you about it. No one gives a shite about prosecuting the enemy and fighting the war anymore except a select few groups. Most people are too busy hanging out at the USO and eating at the DFAC 5 times a day. Sickening.
