Any tips on using a skillet to cook your burgers?

I like to get the skillet hot, get a good sear, then cut to medium heat and finish them.

I like to cook in the oven on 500. Preheat skillet throw in burger and for a half pound burger about 10-12 minutes.

Don't remember where I got the tip but it works. Get your skillet really hot. Then sprinkle some salt on it. Then put the patties down. Cover for a minute. Uncover, flip over and cover. The salt in the skillet stops sticking more than salting the patties when you form them.
