Found this old DVD in a box in our the garage and watched again...my god what a fricking great movie! Interesting to see Bale shine at such a young age. The story, the cinematography and the soundtrack were all truly amazing. Has anyone else seen it?

I went years between seeing it as a kid and again as an adult, and it's just great. Impressive for different reasons at different ages. There are a couple scenes I've watched countless times.

Saw it for the first time in highschool. Someone it tied into a book we read in English class or something. Great movie

Yeah, same here. Didn't know who Christian Bale was then, but after seeing American Psycho I saw Empire again and was like "holy shite!"

It was the first time I ever saw John Malkovich in anything. My first thought was man is that guy ugly. How did he become an actor? At the end I knew why, he is a great actor.

Yes. Very young Stiller. Although a small one, it's probably the only role he's ever played in a film where he was supposed to be "cool."

I haven't seen it either.
Although, in terms of young Christian Bale movies, I watched Newsies a lot as a kid.
