Mostly a 4.2.2.2 Occasionally they'll run a 4.2.3.1, but only at the end of matches when they push Yaya up. And that might have only been while Aguero/Jovetic were out. Isco would have to rotate with Silva on the left side, unless they changed formations for him to fit.

Cristiano handed a three match ban for this past Sunday´s shenanigans in San Mamés. RM will appeal, I´m sure.

He plays tonight in La Copa of course, but the derby is this coming Sunday (which he´ll miss, whether or not the sanction is reduced).

Ancelotti is still struggling with Spanish (if you´ve seen a press conference, it´s quite clear).

The funny thing, when he has to tear them a new a-hole, he does so in Italian (he´s done it three times this season, according to him). When he talks football, it´s in Spanish.

Pretty funny.

Isco may need to look around. Ancelotti´s 4-3-3 scheme isn´t for him.

DiMaría, I don´t know. Bale normally gets the nod, when healthy.

Jese's still fourth attacking option. If anything, Jese is pushing Isco further down the depth chart. Interestingly, Isco is experiencing the same thing that Jese was under Mourinho.

re: CHAMPIONS ( La10ª ya está ) - The Real Madrid Club de Fútbol 2013-14 Thread

From AS

Real Madrid are interested in Thibaut Courtois.

The Liga BBVA club have begun negotiations over the signing of the Chelsea goalkeeper, who has been on loan at Atlético Madrid since July 2011. Courtois was recently directly contacted by an intermediary to sound out his interest in playing for Madrid next season.

Madrid chiefs Florentino Pérez and José Ángel Sánchez have maintained an excellent relationship with Chelsea manager José Mourinho, who would have no issues about negotiating a transfer with his former club.

Courtois is a player whom Pérez is keen on, the Madrid president privately expressing his admiration for the Belgium international on numerous occasions since his arrival in Spain.

Madrid want to sign Courtois for the coming season. The current Atlético number one is under contract at Chelsea until June 2016, and has stated that he will only return to Stamford Bridge if he is first choice - which he feels is unlikely if Petr Cech remains at the Premier League outfit.

Atlético owners Miguel Ángel Gil Marín and Enrique Cerezo are aware that Los Blancos have begun work on the signing of Courtois, and are not happy about their city rivals' intentions. Gil Marín has been negotiating the Belgian's signing with Chelsea for the past month. This was expressly requested by Rojiblancos coach Diego Simeone, who sees the keeper as the club's transfer priority for next season.

Los Colchoneros are exploring other ways to keep hold of Courtois if Chelsea do not accept their financial offer. It is possible that the London club could extend his contract until 2017 and accept another loan to Atlético next season - for the fourth consecutive year.

Atlético were in talks with Genk over the player’s signing in 2011, but were unable to compete financially with Chelsea. The insistence of the Madrid side’s interest led the 21-year-old to put pressure on the English club to loan him to the Vicente Calderón.

Chelsea’s plan was to take the goalkeeper back to England after his first campaign in Spain, before sending him out to another English club for a further two seasons to complete his apprenticeship and fully adapt to life in the Premier League. However, the West London outfit was persuaded by Courtois to extend his stay in the Spanish capital.

Courtois turns 22 in May. Since arriving at Atlético at the age of 19, he has developed into one of the world’s best goalkeepers. Real Madrid want to sign him next season, while Atlético aim to keep hold of his services. The Belgian belongs to Chelsea, and his future depends in part on the decision of manager José Mourinho.

Marca reports that Pellegrini has returned to going after Isco. His non applicability in Ancelotti´s system is universally known, and the engineer is coming hard.

Recently I've been hearing Isco mentioned as a possible Sabatini target for AS Roma.

However, I don't know how grounded it is though I think Rudi Garcia could certainly find a spot for Isco even in his 4-3-3.

However, a more likely doggie bag of Real Madrid leftovers for Roma may be Benzema.

There is a strange unwavering faith in Chamartín for this guy. I know if Lewandowski were available, he´d be gone, but as for now, I don´t see it. Maybe if they go after Costa (although I don´t see him in Ancelotti´s system).

I´m still waiting on Falcao. He´s hurt though, isn´t he?

Can Roma pay upwards of 35M?

Yes. That they would do so for Isco is probably unlikely.

As long as we don't blow CL the American owners are going to spend some money this summer.

I'd prefer the money be spent like this past summer where that same amount brought Strootman + Benatia with some change left over.

However, there will certainly be one "big name" signing introduced in the official press conference for Roma's new Nike deal this summer.

However, that's where a player already so established like a Benzema may be more likely (though it may need to be a Nike player where I think Benzema is Adidas).

The wild card in the Isco scenario would probably be whether Pjanic renews. Word is he wants to stay but he and owners may be a long way apart on salary. There were offers turned down for €35m for him this winter. If he were to be sold the transfer budget would probably be more like €80m instead of say €40m.

I'd guess some other players are more likely though for Roma. If Isco goes to City, Jovetic probably becomes a possible option. Jovetic, if ever healthy, kind of fits the style and is a pretty natural replacement for Totti, if that's possible.

Pastore may be a possible one for attacking midfield.

Well, it´s all about playing, I guess. I know he´d be miserable there, when not playing. At least Navas is there (Andalúz), and to a lesser extent, Silva (Canario, therefore quasi Andalúz) and Negredo (chulo de Madrid). Ah, and Javi García (who in spite of his name, I think is Basque). Just wikied, he´s a Murciano. Martian, more or less.

Yup, torn ACL. Very unlikely to even play in the World Cup.

I do hope that Madrid buys him in August.

Yeah, he's struggled to fit PSG's tactics but he's the type player that you'd almost be happy to lose with just to watch how incredible smooth he is on the ball.

Rudi Garcia's really been a wizard so far in terms of finding the way to "fit" talented players and get the most out of them. Think he could do that Pastore.

Pelligrini may well make City La Liga's Qatari All Star squad the way Leonardo did that at PSG from Serie A.

Odd thing though is that as much as I want to absolutely hate City (and PSG as well) they certainly keep buying a lot of players I really like in addition to Pelligrini being there.
