Sushi- Zushi Puzzle on Lombard is awesome .
Italian- Caffe Sport is local, old school and very good.
Chinese-House on Nanking. Walk in and tell them to feed you, then supplement from the menu at the end, if needed. The shrimp app is great. Wonderful little family run joint.

I ate here a couple months ago. Food is good and the way they treat their customers, you literally feel like you're eating at your grandmother's house

perfect time to see this thread...I'll be there in a few weeks and was already recommended house of nanking....can't wait.
