Buddy Holly
ZZ Top
George Strait

It is really impossible to pick 3

Janis Joplin
Roy Orbison
Waylon Jennings
Meat Loaf
Townes Van Zandt
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Edgar Winter
Johnny Winter

I'm sure I'm skipping plenty of overwhelmingly popular musicians.

I'd put Willie in the top 3 although it's hard to see who gets kicked off your's.

Possum belongs in the conversation. As does Bob Wills, Ernest Tubb, Don Williams, Buck Owens... the list goes on and on for country.

And of course Don Henley.

Lil Wayne is up there for Louisiana, probably right behind Armstrong. Actually in terms of "fame" he may be #1 unfortunately.

It depends how you look at it. Louis Armstrong was a bigger star for his time period than Lil Wayne and really most other stars. It is my understanding that he was comparable to the Beatles and Elvis for his time period. The music business just wasn't as big back then. I would also think that Armstrong is a lot more influential to actual music.

Personally, I just don't like Lil Wayne, and I hardly consider him a musician. More like a bad lyricist.

No way they're the most famous LA musicians except maybe Louis...
