When its an issue that the NBA doesn't have more whites, it can be an issue that baseball don't have no blacks.

Oh jesus christ. There was a big discussion about this at the beginning of the season on the rant. The problem is the cost of entry for baseball. Between the cost of the equipment, the land, and the field upkeep, fewer and fewer baseball fields are built in and around predominately black neighborhoods across the country. Much cheaper to pave a basketball court and put up two goals and be done with it. Cost of entry is significantly less. Less land, little to no upkeep, $15 ball is all the equipment.

You're dumb.

They get recruited, LSU had zero blacks on the team but had at least one committed to LSU. Then he got drafted last year and went that route.

Not to mention scholarships are VERY limited in baseball.

You're basically requiring players not to go pro that are black/hispanic or for teams to get worse. You are just so far wrong.

Sort of like a company hiring someone that is not qualified for the job just so the company can say they hired a minority?

I was afraid this would happen. I'm not attempting to stir the board but simply raise a question that has been eating at me for a while. As a citizen of Jackson, MS I see how many talented African-Americans we have in sports (including baseball) but just don't get the necessary funding to attend college.
In conclusion, I was just concerned there may some type of collusion going on between the NCAA baseball teams (coaches) on not recruiting minority athletes. Feel free to slam me but this needed to be brought up.

Coaches are paid to win, you fricktard. That means the best players are going to play.

This jacksonian is a Chokwe Lumumba supporter, which should tell you all you need to know. We're dealing with a different sort of idiot here....
