You certainly could pick worse guys to learn from than Miroslav Klose and Grass Jan Huntelaar. The only problem is he'd get less playing time.

I'm not a fan of this time of year for most sports. All of the speculation is exhausting, let me know when the dust settles and everything's final.

He'd get less playing time but Klose missing a lot of injury time and also seeming so physically worn down the last couple of months of the season is why Lazio is looking for a good option behind him.

I really hope he doesn't go there, but strictly from a developmental standpoint it probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

Is Maher leaving AZ this summer? Jozy may want to bail at the same time. . .

I really don't think Jozy should move this window. He's dominated the Netherlands, but the league is weak defensively. None of the options mentioned have sounded all that appealing. Jozy's precociousness is augmented by the relative weakness of Dutch teams, but he is still a target striker who typically don't develop until their mid to late twenties.

That said, AZ has had a pretty good record of development in general. But one wrong move could screw up Jozy's development. He has the potential to be the best American striker ever, and he has to choose his next move carefully. I'd prefer it if he went to a team that could provide him a lot of chances, preferably a system which allowed him to play as a lone target striker, which would help the U.S. since that's the system we seem to be sticking with.
