Movies you love but are too intense to watch again.

28 Days Later. Great movie but too brutal. It does a number on me emotionally.

ETA: 2nd times the charm. Stupid iPhone had a mind of its own I swear.

I recently watched Oldboy for the first time. I think that is is an incredibly well put together movie. But the subject matter and a couple of the scenes are a little too much for me.

Enter the Void, Requiem for a Dream, and Pi come to mind.

Saving Private Ryan is a great movie, but I think I've only seen it twice and the last time was 10-12 years ago.

I rewatched American Beauty the other day. Some of the scenes are just painful to watch.

Oh and Blue Valentine. It's one of my favorite movies but it'll be a long time before I watch it again.

I prefer 28 Days over Weeks because the latter is almost preaching to you about how awful the US military is. At least in the first it sticks with how devolved humans are as individuals if the strings holding society together were to ever unravel.

Plus (and this is unfair) I don't think I'll ever forget hearing John Murphy's In a Heartbeat for the first time. Absolutely haunting, distbring, and oddly beautiful.

The first horror film I ever saw in the theater. I left feeling absolutely depressed.

Zodiac.

I liked it a lot, but it was just far, far too creepy for me.
