He probably isn't there quite yet, but I will say it is about even at this point. and I am talking about Career wise here. For a peak, he is def better. After next season he probably passes Bird for their Careers IMO.

Bird :

5 Finals Appearances
3 MVPS
2 Finals MVPs
3 Championships
3-2 in the finals

Lebron:

4 Finals Appearances
4 MVPS
2 Finals MVPs
2 Championships
2-2 in the finals

Bron is another MVP or another finals MVP away IMO

Bird averaged 24-10-6.3 in the first half of the golden era of the NBA and had back problems the last 5-6 years of his career.

Another SF may surpass Bird, but it's not LeBron. Durant has a chance, but he's not quite at his level as a rebounder or passer yet.

Bird was a better shooter, rebounder, passer and defender. LeBron has him on athleticism.

Next.

I saw an interview where a player said during practice for the 3 point contest,Bird walks in. His last year sore back and all. He looks around not shooting, somebody says " Larry what are you doing?" His reply? " Just seeing who is going to finish second." He won BTW

It was on one of the inside the NBA shows. I remember him walking away like a boss after the last money ball knowing it was good before it went thru the net.

LeBron is already better than Bird.

It's not even close.
