Yeah, the debate for me is to fly fish for reds in some duck ponds out in Point a la Hache. I know we'll have some success, it'll be a good time, and I won't have to worry about the weather as much.

Red Snapper season is over after this weekend and I haven't had the chance to go out this year. I feel confident in my boat, but honestly...it's closer to a flats boat than a traditional bay boat.
I've taken it out in some solid 2 footers in getting to Chandeleur islands...but that's still mostly protected waters.
I'm thinking, why not...if it looks bad, just fish the beach

Again play it by ear, but I'm running out there tomorrow in a bay boat with a trolling motor to chase mangroves. I've run to SS lighthouse in bay boat and that's 20 miles, but everyone dismisses it because we're chasing specs. It really has been nice, except for the blow ups. I'd make the run.
