At this point, I feel more confident if we don't sign anyone. We will start very fast and have a good season even if we don't bring in new personnel. This is a great squad with excellent chemistry. Other teams will be shocked at how well we play this season.

Yea, r/liverpoolfc is about as delusional a place as it gets. I was arguing with a guy who thinks LFC have a better XI than Arsenal. Pure lunacy.

we have a very good side, but I think, and our players seem to think judging from their comments, that we need another couple of pieces. we have a good morale going right now, I think that would be diminished some if we didn't buy anyone, as odd as that sounds. plus, we're light in some areas (defense and striker). we're an injury or two away from being in bad shape.

I think so.
We are a few "impact" signings away from being legit title contenders. Suarez would help immensely.

This is where I disagree. Bale was nothing until this season. I wouldn't be surprised if Cazorla and Giroud had a breakout year.

I don't think it's as simple as arsene doesn't want to spend big. If true, it's that he refuses to get browbeaten and let other teams as well as absurd market prices dictate what he's going to do. Unfortunately that school of thought may be a little outdated

So is anyone familiar with the 40M escape clause in Suarez's contract? I guess that's why we bid 40M pounds plus one, to trigger it.
I would think it means more than Pool just has to "talk" with us, as they claim. I mean,that would sure be redundant and useless. "Sorry, we're not interested" could be construed as "talking" so why have that clause in there?
As much as we need some firepower and a proven 20 goal striker, I'm not crazy about Suarez's baggage.
However, if we are in for 40M, whether that is realistic or not, it looks like the club would buy him, no matter what I think.
