Searched baseball draft and didn't see anything, but don't you think they could wait a month or so before the ML draft. Players drafted early might sit back and just worry about how much money, don't hurt yourself. MLB season is almost half over, whats the hurry.

College players aren't the only ones being drafted. The pro teams still need to salvage part of the same year that the players are drafted and get them into their system. It's not ideal for the college players...but, it is what it is.

only 8 teams play in CWS 1000s of players are drafted and maybe 20 to 30 of those players are playing in the CWS. I don't think the MLB will change their draft just to accommodate 30 people or so.

But another thing they want to get guys into their system sooner rather than later. There are already hundreds of guys drafted 2 weeks ago who are already playing baseball for single a short season teams. They do it probably to best fit their schedules and systems not colleges.

Sabotage. The MLB is trying to torpedo the college game.
