Of the Big 6 sports, is Hockey the only one with an undisputed GOAT?

Admittedly, I know very little about hockey, but I don't remember hearing or seeing anyone but Gretzky being mentioned as the GOAT.

Baseball- Ruth, Mays, Bonds & Aaron, among others in the discussion.

Football- Montana, Rice, Elway, Brown, Unitas etc... Although, Rice is pretty universally know as the GOAT WR.

Basketball- It use to be Jordan, but lately this has been brought up frequently. Others in the discussion- Jabbar, Russell, Chamberlain, Bird, etc... Of course, throw in Lebron & Kobe if you wish.

Soccer- Now I know even less about Soccer than Hockey, and I always thought Pele was the undisputed GOAT, but doing some research, I've seen names such as Messi, Zidane & Maradonna mentioned. Those knowledgable about Soccer, please feel free to chime in.

Golf- Woods or Nicklaus?

Is Gretzky the only undisputed GOAT?

Pele is the best of all time. But Gretzky was so far of everybody else you can't compare.

I'd think The Great Bambino is the undisputed GOAT in Baseball

ETA: deserved or not, people will argue it but everyone seems to have been told Babe was the greatest and that's that

Pretty much, by the technical definition of "undisputed". In every other sport, experts/hardcore fans will argue for different players. Even basketball, like you mentioned, someone will say a guy like Wilt with his dominance or bring up Russell's championships. I think hockey's the only one where if you ask 100 hardcore fans or experts who the greatest player of all time, you'd likely get ALL 100 people to say the same person (and if they don't say Gretzky, it's not because they think someone's actually better, it's because they'd have some sort of bias for some reason. That or they're just insane).

still is Jordan. Gretzky behind the goal directing traffic and being so creative. Revolutionized the game.

Can Fan does he still have that restaurant in downtown Tronna by the Air Canada Centre?

A lot of hockey fans I know say Bobby Orr is the best of all-time.

Hipster fans. Orr was incredible, but you can't make a legitimate argument for him over Gretzky.

Bobby Orr changes the game as a rushing defenseman that could shoot and fly. If his knees didn't give out who knows. Two Ontario boys.

Good point

Yes. Gretzky broke more records in hockey than any player has in their sport. At least he had as of a few years ago, I am just assuming it is still the same.

Nah, just old guys who don't think that the modern game is as tough as it used to be.

Hmmm... this sounds familiar...

He has all the records and they won;t be broken as the game has changed. Back then mor open and free skating with higher scores. Now more close checking and defense. Ever since the trap by the devils.
