Pitching rest of the way

I say start Glenn on Tuesday them if we win eades then Nola. That would allow Nola to pitch again for the ship series is we make it

My only problem with throwing Nola on Friday is that he might be unavailable until Wednesday in the championship series

A lot of it depends on the situation and who you're playing and what the other team has to offer. If they have a legit #3 starter, then I could see you going with Nola, but if not, I think you take your chances with Newman/Bonviallain/McCune with Nola ready to come in relief if you need it.

We're not beating someone twice starting two guys that aren't Nola.
Nola can pitch on 3 days rest if LSU would lose game 1 of the series. He would probably ask Mainieri to pitch.
You can save him until game 3 to give him a little more rest if you win game 1.
He'll still be able to throw in the series if he throws on Friday.

You do realize you are in the CWS, right? These are currently the best 8 teams in the country. You don't "save" anyone.

Yes, I know
But Friday to Tuesday is a very short turnaround, unless you get a comfortable lead and can pull him early on Friday
This is all a moot point anyway if we keep hitting like we did tonight
ETA: I'm kinda playing Devil's Advocate here, but I guess we screwed ourselves over by losing tonight

Nola pitches Friday if we get there. Anything else would be crazy.

Nola would have started Friday, regardless of a win or loss. It will be his fifth day.
Why "save" him?
As for the OP, I imagine Eades will start Tuesday and go from there. Glenn on Thursday if necessary, then Nola on Friday and McCune/Bonvilan/whoever on Saturday.
If they can get through all of that to the championship series, then you start Glenn in Game 1 and possibly Nola on 3 days rest.
Of course, those are all dependent on Tuesday. There is a lot up in the air

I guess I was just hoping we wouldn't have to pitch Nola twice this week. If we had stayed in the winners bracket, I'm confident enough in Glenn and Eades that I'd start them on Friday so that you have Nola for game one of the championship series which would have been huge
Obviously that doesn't matter now. He will pitch on Friday if we make it there

I get what you're saying, but at this stage, you don't jeopardize that.
Say tonight didn't happen and you beat NC State on Tuesday, you 100 percent pitch Nola on Friday to get into the championship series. At this point, most teams are even. You don't save anyone.

Then again, I guess if I were confident enough in Eades in Glenn for Friday's game then I should be confident in them for game 1

I'd have pitched Nola Friday even if we stayed in the winners bracket. Because if we would have lost Friday, Nola would have had to start Saturday, then he couldn't have pitched on normal rest at all in the championship.

Correct.
At this point, there's no point in dwelling. Eades/Glenn/McCune/whoever will have to step up. If not, the season is over.

If they are a great team - and not just another good team - they can win 4 games in a row. I will say though, if they beat UNC and UCLA beats NCSU, it would be a bit easier.

Won four in a row in the SEC Tourny.
