Wouldn't it be the Yankees?
As the American League started in 1901 while NL started in 1876 and the AL formed from the Western League which was a minor league based in the Great Lakes.

Raiders
Add Davis, his legacy and impact in the merger and cultural legacy and impact of the Raiders...
By far the best and most influential team in history from a rival league.
(assuming Yankees don't count.)
quote:
The Raiders played in the A.F.L. championship game in 1967, 1968 and 1969, and when the A.F.L. and the N.F.L. merged in 1969, they went to the first of their 11 conference championship games in 1970. Mr. Davis’s Raiders played in five Super Bowls, winning three, Super Bowls XI in 1977, XV in 1981 and XVIII in 1984. From 1963 to 1985, the Raiders compiled an overall record of 229-91-11, the highest winning percentage of any team in professional sports during that time.

I'd go with the Patriots for the NFL. They've actually won SBs.

Its the Oilers and its not really close. They entered the league and became on of the few recognized dynasties in NHL history. They had the greatest player to ever play the game come from their WHA team.

I'm not a fan of the team, but Zamoro10 nailed it with all the right reasons.
It's the Oakland Raiders.
