Miami Heat a better team than the Spurs ?

I have a friend who says no matter what, the Miami heat are the better team, even if the Spurs win the series...and the NBA Champion is not always the best team in basketball that year. Is he right or wrong ?

If you win the series, you are the better team. Otherwise, the Finals would be pointless.

It's hard to lose a best of 7 series and be considered the better team, imo.

No Derrick Rose, Danny Granger, Russell Westbrook, Rajon Rondo, Dwight Howard out of Orlando.
Miami has had their road tailor made for them. If they lose this series, SA is without question the better team.

Spurs are a deeper team but Miami has more talent. Doesn't mean they going to win it. Spurs have better chemistry though.

He claims a 7 game series doesnt prove who the best team is....he claims you need a 21 game series to prove the best team. He also says the Mavericks were not the best team 2 years ago when the Mavs beat the Heat

Miami has not had good consistent play from Wade or Bosh. Also they don't have a role player like Green stepping up to help.
Not going to call an inconsistent team the better team if they can't win the series. Also the Spurs have show all around better effort.
