We have the same kind of deal up here in Wheeler reservoir. Gators were released here back in the 70's. They estimate we have 40-50 now. I've seen some smaller ones in the 8' range. But one day, fishing in my canoe, I saw a 2,000lb, tree-shaking BEAST. Actually, I just saw a HUGE gator head swimming across the slough ahead of me. I don't know how big it was, but it made the 8-footers look like babies.
