I'm getting a rate of return of 11%. Is that good?
I just turned 26 and I started my 401K in Jan of 2011. Thanks!

Its a good ROR. I'm around your age. But keep in mind, the market has been on a big bull run since that time(especially this past year). The market flucuates and so will your ROR.

Yes, that is good.
I'm happy with anything over 8%, but realistically hope to be around 12%. Anything over that is damn good IMO

That is great over the long haul.
I'm not sure that it's great given how the market has behaved between now and then
Either way, it's still good though

Put this in your memory bank under "the good times" and know now that it wont last. The important thing is to stay the course and keep contributing during the good and bad times. Congrats on starting contributions toward your future at a young age.

Great! Thanks everyone.
Time in the market - that's what we oldtimers can't get back.
This means, that, NO MATTER WHAT, do not cash out. No matter how tempting, no matter how critical - DO..NOT..CASH..OUT. I cashed out twice. I wouldn't be rich now, but I would be well over $100k ahead of where I'm at now, if I hadn't done that. And that would then amplify over the next 20 years.
You're 20 years ahead kid - stay ahead.

Depends on what you are invested in. You could just be in something that has higher risk and got lucky.

I'm retired and I look at 8% great for me. I'm able to draw down every month just on my returns and still bank moneys.
