For riot fest in Chicago
Surprised this hasn't been discussed yet on here
I'm kind of on the fence about it.
Cool because people can see a great rock and roll band.. Sad because I feel legends like that should just stay broken up and let their legacy be talked about in almost a folkloric way. Eh
Thoughts?

I feel like they should have just stayed broken up.

I think it would be appropriate if they came out sloppy drunk and played a 30 minute chaotic set and then walked off.

Bob's dead, Paul is sober, and Tommy is a player for hire in Guns n Roses.
That said, I do like that their cash grab at least has a good reason, as Slim Dunlap has some huge medical bills to pay off. I'd love to give them some cash to make sure he gets the treatment he needs. It's not really the Mats, and it will make me sort of sad to see them as a "professional" band cranking out their hits. That's antithetical to the idea of the Mats.
But they've given me a lifetime of great music, they can have some of my cash. I was just teaching Mowgli the words to Bastards of Young the other day.

Tommy has been pretty active and is probably doing alright financially with the GNR gig. Paul hasn't done anything in 4 or 5 years. He could probably use the money a little more.

How is his voice holding up?

Maybe they'll do a show in which they will play nothing but songs from Hootenanny.

I'll probably make one of those 3 Riot Fest gigs... I'm indifferent to their reunion... hell Chris isn't even playing, but it will be fun to see them...
overlooked in this is Rocket From The Crypt is reuniting for some of these... that is bad assness...
