A pitch shot is more of a lob that has more pitch. Like a popup in baseball. A chip is more like a line drive.

I'm probably wrong though

Eh. Generally, I would say that's usually right, but not what defines a chip/pitch. You can lob some chips up in the air. Though most times a chip will stay low and run more.

Yeah I figured a chip you want to roll but a pitch sticks.
