This thread will be updated everytime I am sober enough to do so.
Wednesday: Got in late, no food for me.
Thursday: lunch from pool menu
Dinner at Koi at Planet Hollywood.
Koi did not have a lot of people dining in there and it was rather dark. I considered asking for a flashlight to read my menu. Mr iluv and I shares the lobster tacos. It was 4 mini tacos with lobster, mango salsa and a guacamole spread. For our rolls, we ordered the baked Lobster roll, spicy tuna roll, and another roll that was maybe called a firecracker roll. That lobster roll was fantastic! It had this gooey cheese cream sauce on top of it and I was full after eating two of them. Several other people at the table had this roll and agreed it was their favorite. One person did order the chilean sea bass off the regular menu and while it tastes good, it was a little on the bland side. I really want to go back to koi for breakfast and eat another lobster roll right now. The other two rolls were just standard tunu rolls except the firecracker roll had some mini wonton strips sticking out of the top.
Overall I would give Koi a 8.9. I have to take off points for it being so damn dark in there, but otherwise they had great service, fresh tasting fish and our total bill was about $125, and I think that is very reasonable for Vegas dining.
Friday: despite being told not to, We proceeded to try out the Aria buffet for breakfast. It was $70 for both of us but there was all kinds of stuff that you don't normally see at casino buffets. Well at least in comparison to biloxi and nola casino buffets, I would say a bit more exotic. was it worth $70? not really. I will try the Patasserie or Vettro for breakfast
Lunch: ate at Julian Serrano. It's classified as Spanish fare but nothing I ate seemed spanish.
Tuna cones- ahi tartare, cucumber, won ton, avacado, ponzu. Pretty good stuff, but avocado cannaloni was amazeballs.
Avocado cannaloni- salmon, seaweed, rocoto mayo
Dinner at Cut. We had a party of 9 so I got to try a lot of food. The service was outstanding. They do a presentation at the beginning where they bring out the Wagyu steaks and hybrid wagyu steaks which was interesting. I give this place a 10. Mr. John's will always be my favorite steakhouse but this place offers so much more that I was overwhelmed in the best way.
Appetizers:
Pork belly!
Tuna tartare
Bone marrow- conflicting opinions around the table on this one. Half the table hated it. Mr iluv loved it. I thought it was ok. Prob wouldn't order it again though.
I didn't bother taking pics of everyone's steaks but I did get one of my Wagyu Beef Short Ribs “Indian Spiced”, Curried Pea Puree, Garam Masala, Slowly Cooked For Eight Hours. everyone agreed mine was the best.
Saturday: Lunch- mahi mahi tacos at cabana. Room service for dinner. I had a major hangover after friday night, and webt straight to bed after the haunted hotel. It was a pretty fun haunted house though.
Sunday: See page 2

Walk next door to the Cosmo and find the little hidden pizza place for a quick, cheapish and tasty meal.

Mandalay Bay isn't next door. There's 4 casinos in between.
I like the Mirage sports book.
As for Cut, very good choice. I went last year and it was damn tasty.
For a burger check out Holsteins at Cosmopoliton.
And for cocktails, get a reservation for the bar at Mandarin Oriental. It has a great view of the strip. It's good for pre-show drinks, I'd only hang there for a couple of drinks.

Can't remember which hotel it was but it's the one to the left of Paris. Wither Bally's or Harrah's.
Anyway walk from Paris and towards the back-left there is a "mock-street" that leads you to the next casino. Take it and right before you get to the casino floor in (Bally's/Harrah's) there is a burger place on the left. The burgers are very good and aren't as highly priced as Holstein's.
Holstein's is good though so if you don't feel like walking for 15 minutes just to cross the street give it a shot.

Bally's connects to Paris but the burger place is part of Paris. Overall I find the Harrahs properties to be lacking compared to the MGM owned ones. Ceasers is nice and Paris is ok but I find them to be very lackluster overall.

I agree. And the burger place is still in the Paris "mock-street" right before you get to Bally's

Do not be tempted by Aria's buffet.

Actually, I was targeting the Bellagio because I've heard good things about it, but they were on an hour wait, so I took the tram next door to the new Aria. It was probably one of the weakest $40 meals I've ever had, but most importantly, it was a wasted meal in Vegas.

I heard the same thing about Bellagio. Even went during the recommended brunch time to get the best of both. It was ok. They had a few good items but the rest was crap.
I didn't have any nice meals while there. Kept meaning to go but had something come up a lot. Most of my meals were the pizza place in Cosmo, the burger place in Paris, poolside food or parties for the convention my wife went to.
The next Vegas trip will consist of at least 1 badass meal a day.

There's food at the MC pool. It comes from The PUB kitchen. They put out pretty good bar food. The croissant for breakfast is good.

Wicked Spoon Buffet at Cosmo is spot on.
