Other than a tax form turned in on time, what more do you need from him, and why would you possibly care what his opinions are as long as he follows this nation's laws?

Get over yourselves, folks. It just isn't important for someone to like this country as much as you tell us that you do while grandstanding.

He said he was incorrect in that stance. He thought he was "taking a stand" about something he disapproved of. He was educated that it was not as cut and dried and he moved on.

He was a young man with little guidance. He was groping and made a poor decision.

The dude DID harbor some disdain. He has grown. He still disagrees with some important things about this country. But, he does not have "no respect" for it and is appreciative to it.

JEEBUS!!

Dude made a young, foolish, impetuous decision. He is not the same, now.

What's more anti-American:

Dead-beat dad collecting bullshite disability checks, or
Straight-and-narrow always-there dad who pays taxes and stays crime free and bitches about this country?

Get over yourself, dude. It isn't important for another person to agree with you about how great this country is. It is important, however, for that person to raise his children, pay his taxes, and stay crime-free.

When it comes to matters that are important, Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf is a model citizen.
When it comes to TMZ stuff, Mahmoud can be disagreeable.

So when you say that Mahmoud is a piece of shite, it's obvious what's important to you. I love patriots like you.

Dude to be honest I have no idea what your point is but you keep bringing up the same BS. So a dead-beat dad that collects a disability check is anti-american? Because he pays his taxes, stays out of trouble, is a good father that makes him a good american? I love these SOB that trash this country yet live off the fruit of the land. Move your sorry arse to another country if you don't like it here. No one is keeping you here

Nissanmaxima, I agree with all of your points. If Jackson or anyone else hates it here, there are flights leaving every day. Get on one!

Can you show me one incident beyond the "National Anthem" thing from more than a decade ago to illustrate him "trashing" the country?

Maybe it has happened. I don't know. And, if you point to a simple COMPLAINT, then come to the Political Talk board. We ALL must hate this place!

Seriously. He does NOT hate or trash the country.

Important, yes, but you keep bringing these things up like they're some pious virtues rarely obtained by mere mortals. It ain't that hard or unusual or praiseworthy to do these things.

We are never going to agree so there really isn't any point in arguing. The dude wouldn't stand for the national anthem in a showing of disrespect for the country. Then worked out a deal with the NBA so he could look downward and recite a Muslim prayer during the national anthem. I don't carry if he said he's sorry. frick him. He's certainly free to do whatever he wants but I certainly don't have to like it.

So we are supposed to respect this guy for doing shite he's supposed to do anyway? OK.

I don't expect everybody to be overly patriotic. That's fine.

Standing for the playing of the anthem doesn't have a damn thing to do with the current government and a lot more to do with those who fought for this country IMO.

Chris Jackson is an LSU legend

He didn't do as well in the nba...I think because his
Tourette syndrom got to his peak performance..and probably becoming a muslim didn't help...

Idiotic. It would be just as idiotic to claim that if he were white the same contingent of "America...frick Yeah!" nimrods would be backing him because he was white.

I back his RIGHT to disagree in a peaceful manner...which is all the guy EVER did. I abhor frickheads like the ones that burned his fricking house down because they disagreed with an opinion of his. Given the vitriol in threads like this it's easy to see how easily provoked some people are. I find the complete and total inability to move past this one youthful decision by a guy who, at one point, gave all of us LSU fans tremendous memories sad on several levels.

But honestly, I don't really expect much more out of this group...so hate away.
