Sciaretta has been going off with FJ stats since the game, I forget all the numbers but basically when Fab starts at LW Jozy scores every time and the team has like 11 goals or something. Wish we could find a permanent LB. FJ and LD would wing rape everyone if they both got on the field together.
Darke mentioned it last night too, our scoring record is untouchable with Fab at LW. Though I do admit it's a small sample size.

Small, no doubt, but growing. Seems like he/the team has played better each time too, so even though it's small, still some encouraging signs.

I'd almost say we should take our chances with Parkhurst at LB.
However:
A. Parkhurst hasn't sniffed the field in any of these games
2. We'd have a slower back line, and run a greater risk of having the defense and midfield separate like it did @ Honduras.
Castillo is the wiser option, it seems.

Parkhurst is kind of enigmatic, he's played alright everytime I've seen him. He barely even makes the game day squad for nearly relegated Augsburg. Hoffenheim finished lower in the table, but FJ was a very important player, as evidenced by him starting every game the last 2 seasons when he's been healthy, mostly at LB but with 2 or so months left he switched to LW. Their LB was exceedingly average, so honestly I thought he'd get switched back to LB. he was a youth winger and converted professional defender. Exact same with Chandler, who also moved to RW the last bit of the season.

I'm not sure if Fabs work rate is high enough to man that entire wing, but that does look like fun.

Cameron, Jones, Bradley, Fab would all go forward. Nightmare for the opponent and us.
I would be cool with Castillo starting if he hadn't looked so ridiculous against Germany. Before that, he had played all right for us the last couple of times. Seems like he was playing really well in a match last year before getting injured (or something).
Either way, I don't think we keep a clean sheet against Honduras, so I want a lineup that can score 2 or 3 goals. If that means keeping FJ at LW, so be it, but I think EJ could serve there as well.
Amazing to me that we are all worried about what losing DMB at LB is going to do to our new-found form. Just wouldn't have predicted that a few months ago.

After DMB got torched at LB in the confed cup I said never again. He's pleasantly surprised me, that's for sure.

He's been getting better each game imo. His speed really makes up for a lot though.

we're all guilty of this, the games are few and far between, all of us are extremely amped up and passionate. It becomes very easy for a fan over-react.
I'm willing to bet Besler could come out and lay an egg against Honduras, and 60% of this board would be calling for his ouster from the line up. Neglecting the fact that he's played well just about every minute he's been on the field up until that point.

Castillo is the new Jonathan Bornstein.

Not yet, thankfully. Bornstein was starting damn near every game under Bob by the end.
And Jed, Castillo has literally never done a single positive thing for the USMNT. Ever. Besler has done plenty of useful things (more than Omar, imo).

Bornstein was relegated to the bench by the very end...and then, 'Dolo went off injured in the Gold Cup final, Bradley moved Lichaj to right-back, and Bornstein spent the next 80 minutes being abused by Pablo Barrera and whoever else made their way out to Mexico's right side.
