The first league (and to date best) I was ever in was I guess what you would call a franchise-dynasty league.

Was in it for almost 20 years. Will say that the downfall became that we had a core of 4-5 who liked the year round idea, another 3-4 who were competitive in season, but always seemed to have a revolving door in the last few spots and invariable would get someone's bro or cousin who'd forget to set his lineup, make a questionable trade etc.

Ha, with that said, if u can get the folks who are dedicated here's the basics....

Had a 13 player starting lineup.

QB-RB-RB-we-we-TE-k

Dl-dl-lb-lb-db-db

Allowed for some formation variations.

Had a 30 player roster with a $30 salary cap, and both an auction draft and a rookie draft.

The first year of the league, you ONLY have the auction. Each team must get 30 players. Minimum contracts are .25 and all bidding increments are .25.

Take turns putting players up for auction.

When you win a player in the auction, he is yours for 3 years at whatever salary you get him for.

After the first draft is complete, you will establish "franchise rates" for each position by taking the avg of the top 6 at one starter pos and 12 at 2 starter positions (or numbers you like).

All contracts as said above are for 3 years. After the 2nd year, you make a decision if you want to give the player a raise to the franchise rate, or let him "play out" and his lower rate and go back into the pool after the 3rd year.

Starting in 2nd year add a rookie draft with tradable picks in roof. The prices for each selection are based on a percentage of the franchise rate at each position.

Ok....this is kinda long but if u like the concept and want more info let me know.
