I can't send messages when on my laptop at work (uverse) but when I get home and connect to my DSL, the emails send fine.

Just regular email. When I'm at the office I can receive my emails just like at home. But I can't send any. I think it may have something to do with my outgoing properties for the account.

In the outgoing server information, are you using your full email address or just the username? I.E. Broke@example.com, or just Broke?

Eta

Also, are you using port 25 or port 587 for outgoing mail?

If you're using outlook I would try rebuilding your profile

And I'm using Port 25 for outgoing and 110 for incoming. Incoming mail works fine. I just can't send mail out on port 25 if I'm at work on Uverse.

But what happens when I get home? Will my email still send there?

it won't affect your email at all, only outlook. outlook needs to be configured to use the port your provider uses for outgoing mail.

OK, so if I change to 587 I can send emails from home and my office (home on DSL, Office on Uverse)?

You should be able to. The U-verse connection at work probably disables port 25 because it's unsecure. 587 just adds a layer of authentication (you are who you say you are) when sending.
