When is the last time LSU was only a 2-point favorite in Oxford?? Ole Miss expected to be THAT good, or LSU that bad?

Why do people still think a line is what they think the actual game will be?
The line is placed to get equal amounts on each side so they win juice. With the recruiting class coming in at ole miss and the losses on D from LSU this line is perfect to 50-50.

Ohio State is over 10 point favorites in every game sans Michigan
eta: noticed they are only favored by -8 vs NW

Meh, hardly true. If what you said were true, then there wouldnt instances of reverse line movement, etc.
Vegas tries to maximize profit.

Oregon lines seem a little inflated to me.
-25 vs Tenn? Hmmm

Lines this far ahead of time it's 100% fact. Once the game nears they will try maximizing both sides.

When Oregon is up 28-0 at the end of the 1st quarter, you will be thinking differently.

What's more interesting is Alabama -11.5 at home vs LSU. Call me crazy, but I think that's too many points to give LSU.
Last year they (LSU) were something like +10 at home against bama and nearly won straight up.

Yup... LSU has won in TTown recently as well.
I'd take em, easily.

While I dont think UT will be worth much this year, I think Oregon will take a step back as well.
I dont like to bet much until after week 3 anyways, so I wouldnt touch it until I see both play and I get some data to put into my spreadsheet

Reverse line movement can happen because there's a known segment of the betting public or sharps that will bet a line blindly if it moves like that. If the house can offer a smaller line AND get action they'll do it every time.

Gimme LSU +11.5 right now and Id try and get Bama -6.5 later for a middle.
And Vegas likes equal action but they will take a stance on a lot of games.

I think more often than not Vegas is rooting for the dog because more people bet on favorites and give up points than take points.

Only a few places will take a stance on a game and we're one of them. But even we will move a line if the percentages get too out of whack.
And yes, its always better for the house when the dog wins.
