I have not read the books yet, but I's a huge fan of the show. My 12 year old daughter loves to read and would like the story, but the series is entirely too mature for her. Are the books as graphic as the show? Appropriate for an almost 13 year old to read?

There is almost as much sexual content in the books as in the show, so if you think the series is too mature for her then the books will be as well.

I'm only 500 pages into the first one, so maybe it gets worse, but the sexual content in the book is very tame compared to the show. I haven't hit too much violence in the series though, so maybe that's graphic. I'd say no, but 12 year old kids know everything these days.

ETA: Profanity isn't near as bad in the first book either. Maybe seen 2 f-bombs and 1 c-word and that's about it honestly.

I actually think the sex in the book is MORE graphic than the show. There were a couple times when I was like "damn that's pretty dirty"
