Thinking about buying a BGE for my balcony. Is BGE the best game in town or is it worth it to consider another manufacturer of ceramic grills?

Other competitors are:
Primo
Grill Dome

All the top end ones are about the same. I have a primo and love it.

Go look at them and the other top manufactures.
The grilling surface is small on the egg for a group or large family...

Primo Oval XL gives you a lot more room and the ability to simultaneously do direct and indirect cooking. I absolutely love mine.

People laugh at me when they ask why I went with the Primo and I tell them its oval. However, because there are straight lines I firmly believe it allows you to arrange the food better thus giving you more room.

oval makes sense. Giving the wife a hint that buying me yet another grill is a good idea for fathers day. Although, I have large smokers, a percy pit and two knock off pery pits. I will use this grill for my personnel use, mainly direct cooking.

It is a chuck of money to drop, but you have a 20+ year warranty and you will grill better than you ever did before unless you are currently a master griller...

That's one of the cool things about it. That one grill can take the place of all others except a gas grill.

I don't see why. It's clearly a superior shape.

To the OP, if you're set on one of the "large" sized ones, I'd go with the Grill Dome. Thickest of all the ceramics and all stainless steel hardware.

Speaking of which...if I wanted something smaller, has anyone tried the Primo Kamado?
Is that essentially their version of the Mini Green egg?
Was thinking of getting something like that

get an Egg or a Primo

I really think the Grill Dome is the best in the "large" category.

cool, another BGE fap party thread
but if you have the money, get the BGE

Any one have first hand knowledge of this grill for sale at costco? Seems to be well built and you get more bang for your buck compared to a BGE.

Is there something that might be just slightly larger than the mini or comparable size?
I really want to get something small that I can easily bring to the beach

all of the ceramic grills I have been around have been heavy, not something you want to lug around. I addition I don't know how well they would take getting knocked around moving...

Primo, Kamado Joe,or BGE you cant go wrong with any of these. Be careful with the lesser brands. There is a reason they are cheaper
