I'd take Simmons over Rizzo.

Agreed.

Another interesting note, Sherman also said that Machado was much closer to Harper in the vote than Harper was to Trout.

4. Harvey
5. Moore
6. Darvish
7. Segura
8. Cespedes
9. Simmons
10. Rizzo

I assume Darvish so low due to his age?

Exactly. He's a badass, but he won't be raping teams as long as the others on this list will be.

Those top 3 are special. Could go down as an all-time class.

It's too early to tell who is going to end up being the best, but not one of those pitchers has had a better year than Corbin.

I wouldn't take simmons over rizzo but that could be because i'm a homer. I would guess he'd take simmons over rizzo because of the value that a good SS adds where as there is a perception that you can find any slugger to play 1b.

Personally i'll take the guy leading the league in XBH

Yeah, I'd take the guy with 35-40 HR potential. I don't think it's that hard to find a good fielding, average hitting SS.

I think rizzo is going to be very good. Not like how cubs fans thought felix pie or corey patterson or brett jackson was going to be good, but actually good. I like him a lot. K's are still a bit high, but just by watching him he's becoming a lot more selective on what he can drive, not just hit.

Rizzo has a .250/.323/.434 career line. I know he's only 23, but that's not that great for a first baseman. And who knows if he'll ever hit lefties. Freeman has played longer and is also 23, and he's got a .274/.344/.450. Not too much value in an average first baseman with a .750-.800 OPS.

Simmons is an elite defensive shortstop. If he's just an average hitter he'll be more valuable than a .800 OPS first baseman.

Underrated. I am also starting to think Machado might be better than Harper/Trout

and a revamped swing. Not saying throw away the padre numbers but i don't think thsoe numbers are anywhere close to indicative of what he can do.

Well those numbers this year are higher than the ones you posted for your average...so did you look up his lefty splits or just throw this out there? Also 4 of his 10 home runs...against lefties...also posses a higher average against lefties than righties in what is now his first full season in the majors.

I guess it boils down to this, you seem to think he's close to peeking, i don't think anyone else really agrees.

no one disagrees with it, so it's a difficult position to fill which is why braves fans like him more,(and i can agree with that)...that and he's a brave.

Rizzo is leading the league in extra base hits AND is playing very solid defense.
