"The track Olympics are the biggest stage you can get to as a human being in any sport," Brown said. "I'm most excited about having a chance to be able to compete in a competition that will get me to the Olympics so I can represent the country. It's on my mind even more than football."
quote:
The Super Gold MVP for boys track and field plans to graduate a semester early in December so he can enroll in college and join a football team next spring for offseason practices.
Sometime in July, Brown will decide which five schools he will take official visits to in the fall.
Sometime that month he plans to sit down with his mother, Tammy, and decide which five colleges he will take official visits to in the fall.
"It will have to do a lot with how I felt when I was there and how my mom felt when she was there," Brown said. "It will come down to who will be coaching me - the defensive backs coach. It will come down to their tradition of winning. The list goes on and on. There are so many factors because this will probably be the three most important years of my life because it will be preparation for the 2016 Olympics and the NFL Draft."

It is so easy to see him in purple and gold..........and not because his sister comes here but because we have had solid success stories with 2 sport athletes........
Xavier Carter.......4 time NCAA champion and football player
Chad Jones...........2 NCAA titles: baseball and football
Trindon Holiday........100 m champ and NFL football player

Plus Jared Mitchell, Bennie Brazell, RJF, and Spencer Ware. I'm sure I'm missing more, as well.

Wasn't Brazell in the trials or something to that extent?

Does he and his sister have the same mom? If so you would have to assume she's perfectly fine regarding LSU. Love how this kid has set high goals for himself and is taking the necessary steps to accomplish them.

Brazil made it to the Olympic finals in the 400 hurdles. He was in third place when he hit the very last hurdle & failed to medal. The second place guy slowed down when he realized he wouldn't win the gold & defeat his adversary. He would've medaled with a bronze or silver if he didn't hit the last hurdle.

That's pretty cool. I'd be interested in knowing if if he could join the track team for next year since his eligibility clock would be ticking anyway.

I'm glad the title verified his height, much needed info there.

Martin did play basketball and football. Now just football, but its possible to do multiple sports at LSU. And most have done football and another sport. Almost seems like we are a no brainer.

Was watching the U.S track championship today and caught the finals for the 110m hurdles. Compared TBs best time(13.38 in Apr/13) and suddenly realized he's way faster than I initially thought. I'm gonna be rooting for this kid no matter where he goes, but hope its LSU.

Tony Brown needs a nick name as soon as he is a Tiger.

This is easily the only nickname he should get. I mean it's tailor made.
