Some of my favorites:

The Grindhouse — The moniker of choice for FedExForum, naming-rights be damned. Everyone says it now. Players, broadcasters, writers. The idea has been widely misattributed to Tony Allen. It actually came from a local fan, Ryan Hamlin, who tweeted Allen the suggestion and was conferred a blessing.

Hamed Haddadi —In retrospect, probably the biggest cultural casualty of the Rudy Gay trade. The NBA's first Iranian player, Haddadi became an unlikely cult hero in Memphis one night against Cleveland, where he laid out Lebron James with a pick, dunked on Shaq, gave the greatest locker-room quote in team history ("I drop-step. I go around Shaq. I dunk that shite."), and then walked into a downtown bar to a standing ovation.

Old-school Jams — The Grindhouse probably isn't the only arena that plays Tag Team's 1993 hip-hop hit "Whoomp! (There It Is)" when things are going well in the fourth quarter or the Gap Band's 1982 R&B banger "You Dropped a Bomb On Me" after big wins. But, in Memphis, we love that shite like it came out yesterday.

Question posed to me by a longtime Spurs fan: Is game 3 a must-win for both teams?
At first I said it absolutely is for Memphis and is not for San Antonio, but he suggested that, considering the last two postseasons, going up 2-0 and losing game 3 would be too much of a mental strain on the Spurs. He even acknowledged that they probably have the best mental makeup top to bottom of any team in the league, but that maybe this would be too much to overcome.
I still think all of the pressure is on Memphis to get both at home. If the series is tied at 2 going back to San Antonio, then I'll buy into the Spurs being worried. Right now, though, I think they'd be fine going into Monday's game up 2-1.

If we win both of these next two games at home, we win the series.

Hamed used to get wasted. He was awesome.

I don't know about that, but I am pretty certain that the series is over if San Antonio takes either game in Memphis.

Our closest comparison in New Orleans would be Birdman but he was snorting coke and mething it up.

I agree that at this point the pressure is definitely on Memphis. They absolutely have to win game 3. The Spurs protected their home court and now they have a chance for a break. In order for Memphis to even think about winning the series they have to hold serve at home.
