1. did nothing wrong,

3. did not break any laws

More problematic in my view is that she proclaimed - voluntarily and under oath - that she did not violate any IRS rule or regulation.

That would seem to open up a lot of specific inquiries about any rule or regulation that applies to the overall topic of the inquiry.

That's the way it ought to be anyway.

But more importantly, if she has broken no laws or violated any regulation or lied to congress, then she can only be covering up the misdeeds of another person.

Certainly the fifth amendment does not protect
OTHER people who may have committed crimes - only the person being asked to testify.

I wouldn't want you as MY lawyer.

She can testify in due time, but as of right now her invoking the Fifth Amendment was the only choice a sane person would take. The Committee is opening up an official investigation and anything she said in yesterday's hearing could have been distorted or truncated or misapplied in the investigation and in a possible criminal proceeding.

by the way. She should have been fired last week.

Exactly why should an innocent person who has broken no law, violated no rule or regulation, never mislead a congressional hearing be fired??

I am not sure of your bearing here gerald.

Just more silliness on your part. At least you're backing off the absurd position that I needed to read hours of court cases in order to reach a considered opinion.
No, you fool I am accusing you of prejudice. Your mind was made up before events transpired. You did not even consider the arguments of any experts who differed from your conclusion drawn without consideration of the facts.

As for researching court cases I did not bring them up because you admitted to not reading them. To me this was an admission that you did not care about the facts and circumstances that the courts considered essential to making their decisions. It buttresses my belief that you are arguing based on your prejudice since you are admitting to ignorance.

I quoted and named several other prominent attorneys who say by explanation that Dershowitz is wrong. I've also laid out specifically in another thread why I think Dershowitz is wrong.

I take it that now that you sheeple seem to think what Dershowitz says is infallible and authoritative, which I've never done, you will all accept his opinion of Bush v. Gore and the Clinton impeachment, right?

Rex ever give a reason why he thought she should not be forced to testify? Does he not care about the truth? Or, has he admitted that O and his cronies can do no wrong?

I think the downside is to Issa. If Lerner is exonerated on any matter by a Federal Court he will be dealt a blow.

I don't think so when you consider she isn't giving testimony anyway and will be facing a Special Prosecutor before this is said and done. Just to be clear I would have plead the 5th in that devils den too.

Here's a shocker for you Rexy, AD was correct. The Supremes should have never taken up Bush v. Gore.

Her statement yesterday may not be true according to Levin. She says she never mislead but Levin and McCain say she did exactly that in her previous testimony. Lerner is on very shaky ground when even Levin is going after her.

Wrong again, chump. Prejudiced toward what? I wanted her to testify... sat down there with my coffee hoping she would.

It has everything to do with your point, jackass. I knew full well she and her attorney planned to take the Fifth. I hoped for something different.

Fair point btw, as Issa claimed he hoped for the same, even as he teamed up with Gowdy to screw her into the ground if she did not testify.
